Encouragement From the Intentional Living Center
Peace and PossibilitiesDr. Randy Carlson Anxiety and fear can cause paralysis, preventing upward mobility or forward progress. This kind of thinking is never from God, yet it affects people’s lives every day. Allen was miserable at work but turned down the offer of a position in a different department because he was afraid it could be even worse. Joanie had been hurt in her past relationships. When Tom, a nice man from church asked her to join him for lunch, she was filled with anxiety as she pondered all the “what ifs…” and then declined. When anxiety is a significant factor in decision-making:
- You deny yourself the possibility of a wonderful change.
- Improvement and forward progress will be slowed or prevented.
- Your judgment is clouded.
- Emotional freedom
- Maximized progress
- Holy boldness
