You may not be on a stage. You may not wear a mic or have your name in lights. But if you’re showing up, giving, serving, helping—this message is for you.
I’ve seen a lot over the years in ministry. I’ve stood in front of crowds, spoken on-air, and led teams through tough seasons. But let me tell you something: the people who move the mission forward are often the ones no one sees. The ones who stay late, clean up quietly, give without recognition, and pray behind closed doors.
Jesus talked about people like that in Matthew 6:4. He said, “Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you” (NIV). And in Luke 21, He noticed a poor widow dropping two tiny coins into the offering. Others gave more visibly, but Jesus said, “This poor widow has put in more than all the others”(Luke 21:3 NIV).
Why? Because God isn’t measuring applause. He sees the heart. He sees you.
When You Serve Without Applause
I remember hearing a fundraising expert say once, “Every day you delay a thank-you, you lose 1% of the commitment.” That stuck with me—not just for donors, but for all of us.
Gratitude matters.
So let me say this plainly: Thank you.

You might be the person bringing meals to someone who’s sick. You might be the faithful
grandparent praying every morning before anyone else wakes up. Maybe you’re giving monthly to a ministry like ours, quietly, consistently, without anyone knowing the sacrifices you make.
And maybe, in the middle of all that giving and serving, you’ve wondered: Does this even matter? Let me assure you—it does. You matter. And yes, God notices.
The Hidden Work that Brings Heaven Joy
Jesus told us this in Matthew 6:4, “Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Not “might.” Will.
It’s easy to think only the visible things matter—what people clap for, post about, or stream online. But some of the most powerful acts of faith are done in secret. Like the widow who dropped in two tiny coins, unnoticed by the crowd, but seen by Jesus Himself. She didn’t make a scene—she just made a choice. And that choice still echoes today.
Intentional Living Starts Behind the Curtain
At our ministry, we talk a lot about choosing to live intentionally in Christ. It’s deciding that whatever you do—whether it’s folding church bulletins, raising a child, supporting a friend through grief, or writing a check when no one asks—you do it on purpose. You do it for Christ.

I’ve said it often and I’ll say it again: “What one thing can you do today that will bring pleasure to Christ?” That question resets everything. Not, What will get noticed? Not, What’s easiest? But simply, What will bring Him pleasure?
Ephesians 5:10 says, “Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it” (MSG).
When You’re Tired, Remember This
Maybe you’re exhausted. Maybe you’re giving, and it feels like no one sees or cares. Maybe you’ve thought, I’m just a volunteer, or I’m just a small donor, or I’m just a parent trying to hold it all together.
You are not “just” anything.
You are a servant of the Most High God. And He sees everything you do for His glory—even the stuff behind the curtain.

Serve On. Give On.
- So if you’re stacking chairs or staying up late to help someone who won’t ever repay you… keep going.
- If you’re supporting a ministry month after month without knowing who’s being reached… keep going.
- If you’re doing the right thing when no one is watching… keep going.
God is watching, and He’s pleased.
Let’s be the kind of people who give when it’s hard, serve when it’s quiet, and trust when it’s thankless. Let’s do the next right one thing for the purpose of bringing pleasure to Christ. He sees you. He knows. And it matters most to Him.
Let’s Be Intentional Together
